Q like it What made you decide to start your business?
AI wanted to spread my passion for fitness with others and at the same time have the flexibility of being able to spend more time with my family and my daughter all while still working and doing something thing I was so passionate about. I want my daughter to see what hard work is all about, but I still want to be able to take her to music class, drop her off at preschool, and have an afternoon date at the park with friends. This business has given me that opportunity and so much more.
Q here How do you balance motherhood with entrepreneurship?
A Finding the balance of home life, being a mom, and running a business certainly isn't easy. Prioritizing, having a to do list, writing things on my calendar, and just trying to be on top of things the best I can has been very helpful for me. I'm still continuing to find better ways to find that balance, and I know it will only continue to be a work in progress.
Q that site What is the most important skill a mompreneur should develop (even if it’s not natural to them)?
A Flexibility!!! By far a skill that I am still continuing to adapt to! Being flexible is so important. Rather it's something with thing with the studio, myself, or for my family. Sometimes you have to learn to let go, and be willing to figure it out on the fly. Things don't always go as planned, and at any moment especially with a business and a 2 year old things can be a bit crazy from time to time. I'm learning to adapt though, and I'm super blessed to have this experience. I'm learning to adjust and ride the wave.
Q this contact form What does your self-care look like?
ALol...self-care! That's pretty comical for me these days. Self-care for me involves sneaking in a shower without my daughter. I'm pretty simple. I love eating healthy and working out. Below my family and my business working out and eating healthy is top priority. Outside of teaching spin a few days a week, I enjoy lifting weights and joining in on a workout circuit with some other mommy friends. As a family we love to ride bikes, golf, paddle board, ski, hike, kyak, and any competitor sport that exists. Working out keeps my mind right as well as my fitness where it needs to be in order to stay on top of my spin game.
Q http://theskunk.org/karolina/7069 Do you have a support network? Is it important to find one?
AI have a huge support network! Lots of family and friends along the way have been my driving force and motivation to do what I love! My husband being my number one fan and supporter. Every step of the way he has always been there for me and has never questioned any of my crazy dreams or business ideas. I also have a wonderful friend and mom who help me with my daughter when I'm away, that is a huge deal for me. Having these people in my life has been very important, and I definitely know for sure that things wouldn't run as smoothly without them. I'm blessed all around!
